Worth knowing
Like the huge Salomones, the second-largest format of the young brand (launched in 1996) was added to the regular portfolio in 2003, after the two flagships were presented in a limited special humidor. The stately format is called „Romeo“; Cuaba also produces it in the RyJ factory. The very productive cigar can be smoked for 90 – 120 min.

Flavours
The double figurado starts off seductively honeyed, with betting floral and fruity aromas alongside subtle cedary spice. In terms of taste, it is close to brands like Cohiba and Trinidad, but sometimes also reminds one of Punch or RyJ. In the varied course of smoke of the medium-strong Habano, nutty Röstaromena are added as well as a hint of cocoa and spice. A very complex smoke that combines pronounced umami character and typical Cuban features with a wealth of fragrant, floral, „summery“ facets. For more than a few connoisseurs, this is Cuaba's best blend.

Der besondere Clou der Marke Cuaba ist ihre Form, die als Doppel-Figurado bekannt ist. Vor allem gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts war diese Form bei Habanos sehr beliebt. Grund genug, diese schöne Tradition gut ein Jahrhundert später, fortzuführen. An prominenter Stelle, nämlich der Manufaktur Romeo y Julieta, wo die Cuabas hergestellt werden. Und mehr noch: Mit der Fertigung der Doppel-Figurados zeigen die torcedores ihr größtes Können. Doppel-Figurados sind der Gipfel der Kunst der Zigarrenherstellung. Schon allein deshalb verdienen sie einen Platz in der Sammlung eines jeden Zigarrenliebhabers. Zu Beginn gab es von der Marke Cuaba nur vier vergleichsweise kleine Formate, von den drei bis heute gefertigt werden. Im Jahr 2003 kamen noch zwei wesentlich größere Formate hinzu, die heutzutage zum Standardsortiment gehören: die Distinguidos und die Salomones.
