Buy here cigars from My Father
The story of the Don Pepin My Father Cigars brand is told by the Garcia family as follows. Jaime was in Nicaragua without the knowledge of his father Don Pepin to surprise him with a birthday cigar or a birthday blend. When Don Pepin found out about this, he asked his son to hand him three cigars, which he tasted that evening. The result was that Don Pepin cigars were so popular that they became a fixture in the production program and at the same time the Tabacalera was named after it!

In context, ‘invicto’ means ‘indestructible’ rather than ‘undefeated’ - and the classic Robusto format for approx. 45 - 55 minutes is just as much that as the legendary creator of this cigar. The ideal introduction to our new series - and a fabulous cigar!
Flavours
The first puffs are grassy, toasty and surprisingly light, but then the Robusto really gets going. Pepper and earth, reliable constants of almost every Pepín blend, quickly hit the palate, as does a less expected world of flavours - diverse herbal notes (sage?) unfold alongside the noble astringency of the best tea; fruity like the ‘Black’ line in the second third, it turns towards coffee beans and resin towards the finish. Medium-bodied, yet fully flavoured and ethereally fresh at the same time - masterfully blended!

The Maduro variant of the popular series from the house of Garcia lagged a few years behind the Sungrowns, but in terms of quality it is easily on a par with the PLV Champs, which are rated dazzlingly in the trade. Smoking time approx. 70 - 85 minutes.
Flavours
This cigar is much closer to the Garcia prestige brand "My Father" than the Sungrown version, but has more than enough character of its own. The course of the smoke is characterised by dense, tart-sweet notes of dark chocolate, but also has distinctive woody facets between oak and cedar, plus of course multi-layered earth and spice flavours that gradually become more intense. To compensate, a noble sweetness is offered, somewhere between liquorice and dried fruits, which uncharacteristically also remains in the finish. Medium strong in the 1st half, rather strong in the 2nd. A distinguished smoke!

The classic Toro format - round rolled, lusciously filled and yet with comfortable smoking characteristics - cleared excellent reviews from the trade magazines - Pepín's father (born in 1922 - hence the year) would be proud of the Filius! Smoking time approx. 75 - 90 minutes.
Flavours
The critics' acclaim (including a bombastic 95 P. in the "Cigar Journal") is no coincidence! The cigar, which is stronger than average but very smooth to smoke after a few hefty first puffs, beguiles with an abundance of brand-typical yet originally interwoven aromas - incisive tropical wood spice, ravishing chocolate pudding with a strong, oriental spiced mocha to it, clinging dark sweetness with occasional hints of dried fruit, a subtle tart latent earthiness in the background that gradually takes centre stage - truly a great marriage of intensity and elegance!

It is one of the many family legends of the Garcia cigar dynasty that son Jaime is said to have created his dad José this blend for his birthday one day, and thus found such approval that the cigar came into regular production. So it delights for about 55 - 70 minutes also us!
Aroma
My Fathers Signature series is among the brand's finest blends, and this format is rightfully a particular critics' favorite. Not an MF-typical expressive spice bomb, but rather a playful, highly complex medium-strength cigar whose fantastically balanced melange of tropical woods, distinctive leather notes, wonderful honey sweetness with a latent fruity impression, as well as fragrant-floral overtones fades into a "darker" flavor as the smoke progresses. Roasted tones of strong coffee, cocoa and soft earthy facets then make the music, while the sweetness gains the character of caramel.

Don't bite into it! Unlike the other, round Tatuaje series, this one is "flat boxpressed" in the aroma-rich San Andrés wrapper and is not a little reminiscent of a Landjäger sausage. It is also at least as tasty - and more productive with 80 - 95 minutes of smoking time!
Flavours
Like few non-Cubans in this price range, the long format puts down an impressive flavour development as the smoke progresses. Initially of moderate strength, nicely sweet, with chocolatey indulgence flavours and exotic spice tones, it becomes visibly more intense and earthy; the chocolate notes turn into deep cocoa notes, spicy ginger takes the place of the more mellow spices, roasted notes of espresso beans join in. The strength increases continuously, reaching a level just above average towards the end. Remarkable - as in the whole series - is the super-creamy smoke despite all the spiciness.

This original line with "flagtail" chop at the foot and lush ring gauge is intended as a tribute to traditional values of the cigar trade. The 10-bottle size tempts you to buy a box! This is, after all, really more of a Double Robusto with 70 - 85 minutes of smoking time.
Flavours
Wow, this handsome cigar is even more complex than the far from monotonous "No. 1"! To the concise, full-bodied wood, leather and peat notes alongside piquant herbal and spicy aromas, which complement each other very harmoniously throughout the course of the smoke, it seduces with tinglingly ethereal, slightly citrus-reminiscent sour-fresh overtones. On the other side of the spectrum is a nutty-sweet, rich creaminess that some aficionados compare to peanut butter. Like all "RC" Vítolas, the strength is relatively moderate by Tatuaje standards.

This blend, rumoured to be Pepín's first after emigrating from Cuba, is finally coming to us! Like all cigars of his brand, this one also knows how to inspire right away - and this Vítola with approx. 45 - 60 minutes smoking time is of particular elegance!
Flavours
The pale green band speaks volumes! This blend really does taste ‘green’ in the most positive sense - spicy herbs, grass, tropical wood and, as the smoke progresses, increasingly black tea make up at least half of the broad flavour palette, giving the Corona an unexpectedly fragrant, light-footed character. Of course, it remains unmistakably a DP - the strength is in the solid mid-range, and the bold spiciness typical of the brand is also fully present, characterising the enjoyment of this format with green pepper, a good pinch of nutmeg and incense in the nose. The hoped-for hit!

The green-robed giantess for around 75 - 90 minutes, as is usual with DP a Nicaraguan Puro, makes the new edition of Mr Garcia's original blend exciting for Gordo freaks too - but everyone else will undoubtedly love this sexy thickness too!
Flavours
Soft, creamy clouds of smoke envelop the palate in a veritable flood of flavour. The herbal, tea and hay notes that make ‘VC’ stand out from the other series in the Garcia portfolio are most prominent here and are also interwoven with a little more natural tobacco sweetness than in the other formats. The pepper boost expected by many, on the other hand, is slowed down here, with an extra-fine nutmeg note taking centre stage - in any case, the indispensable spice potpourri can be tasted at all times and gradually becomes more concise. Deep espresso notes are added towards the end.

If our tired eyes do not deceive us, this is not a Toro in life, but a straight Robusto Doble. That's all we have to complain about - on the contrary: the "oval boxpressed" stogie with a burning time of approx. 70 - 85 minutes is an absolute gem!
Flavour
A bit more creamy in the smoke than the Robusto, a bit more concise fermentation sweetness, but a bit less spice and "zing" - does this adequately describe the differences between the 2 formats? By no means, convince yourself! Nutmeg and clove, liquorice and mild pepper, a hint of ethereal garden herbs - the multi-layered "vegetal" character is perfectly compatible with the quite solid, nutty-"meaty" umami notes! In addition, the sweetness of forest honey hits the palate again and again - a cigar full of variety, racy, yet perfectly balanced and exciting!

"Pelo de Oro", "golden hair", is the name given in Latin America to the tobacco that provides the wrapper for this line. Paradoxically, this Cuban mother of the Corojo comes in a dark Oscuro colour. Either way: a captivating pleasure for 45 - 55 minutes.
Flavours
My Father cigars are known for an expressive start with a distinctive roast and pepper tickle before the sophisticated blends turn on the charm. With many formats, this "blast" doesn't seem so violent to us - but this little powerhouse really flexes its muscles at first. Soon, however, a gentler impression takes hold, and as the intensity increases linearly, the harmonious bijou flavour unfolds with cocoa, roasted nuts, liquorice, earth and fragrant "vegetal" overtones. The powerful spiciness blends in wonderfully. A spicy smoke of the stronger kind.

The very classic series from the hand of the Cuban exile and today's grandee of Nicaraguan cigar making José „Don Pepín“ Garcia is clearly cheaper than his brand „My Father“, but also äußonly successful! Smoking time here approx. 50 – 60 minutes.
Flavours
For a cigar in this price segment, Garcia's Standard Robusto is incredibly coherent and dense in aroma. Like many Nicaraguanas, it is initially very spicy and direct, but settles down immediately and then unfolds a bouquet of dark woods, freshly roasted coffee, brown bread, earth and liquorice, interspersed again and again with subtle sweet (dried) fruit notes. The light smoke increasingly offers a latent cocoa note and gains a pleasantly leathery impression reminiscent of Pep's Cuban roots. The medium-bodied cigar tastes stronger than it actually is – always a mark of quality!

In an increasingly Gordo-heavy cigar world, this classic 7 ½ x 38 Lancero is an endearing exotic whose existence - and price! - many thoughtful, hard-boiled aficionados will be pleased to know. Smoking time varies between 15 ("It's too strong for me!") and 120 minutes.

Hehehe. The uninitiated who find this long thin with braids funny and want to "just try it" will experience their blue (!) miracle. One of the strongest and most intense Nicaraguan cigars, it is a feast for all those who want an extended evening smoke with captivating aromas and a varied smoking experience. The first puffs offer fine woody nuances and distinguished cocoa notes, even if they are still quite harmless. Soon, however, strength and body swell more and more; oak, espresso, peat, leather, nutmeg, but also liquorice, black tea and dried figs can be tasted. You have to experience it!

These cigars have nothing to do with the singer Joan Baez Baez is in fact the home town of MF boss Pepín Garcia. The exile once again pays tribute to his roots with this budget series. The large corona burns for approx. 45 - 60 minutes.
Flavor
A short filler that not only smokes more like a long filler in terms of burn, but also comes close to the full-bodied aroma of one. The medium-bodied smoke is more in the spicy, piquant corner, with an earthy, peaty undertone and the roasted taste of espresso beans as constants. The spiciness is more pronounced here than in the other formats, with a moderate pinch of pepper and a nice refinement, sending the piquant aroma of an oriental bazaar to the palate. The most complex of the series!

Mexican San Andrés wrappers are gaining more and more fans as they not only look great, but also bring in a distinctive flavour profile. Pete Johnson has incorporated this particularly expertly - check it out for yourself for 55 - 65 minutes!

"Thick" is certainly the wrong word for a "flat boxpressed" cigar - but 54 is a stately ring gauge that gives the typical extra-smooth smoking sensation even in such a heavily compressed cigar. At the same time, however, there is that density of aromas that is the purpose of the box pressing - dark chocolate, mocha, nutmeg and oak complement each other to create a perfectly balanced, medium-bodied smoking pleasure that, due to its format, offers a little less development than the long Vítolas in the series, but even more cream and sweetness. One of the most suitable Tatuaje for an introduction to the brand!

The dark brown Corojo Oscuro wrapper under the noble blue anillas may seem a little sinister (thus referring to the strength of the blend) – the taste picture, however, is dazzling. 50 – 60 minutes of smoking pleasure with soul!

Really, the „Blue“ are cigars like a beautiful blues song – soulful, authentic, intense and brisk. Slightly less strong than her more awe-inspiring sisters, the „Unbeatable“ is still üabove average in strength. It has a relatively high caramel sweetness with a slight hint of dried fruit – the perfect counterbalance to the massive spiciness, the prominent coffee aromas and the deep woody astringency that characterise the whole smoke to varying degrees. In the last third peaty-earthy, with a touch of smoke, but still slightly sweet. Bomb!

Like the 2 other series formats, the largest also offers many trademarks of the cult brand My Father at an extremely affordable price. The door to the world of José Pepin opens in a time slot of approx. 60 - 70 minutes!
Flavours
Striking roasted and earthy notes hit the palate from the very first puff. It may sound unspectacular, but it's still great - after all, the blend was created by master Don Pepín himself and bears his signature! This means that there is also a pithy spiciness at the start, which harmonizes perfectly with the hearty, satisfying basic taste, especially as a latent liquorice/molasses sweetness comes into play again and again. In the last third, the almost medium-bodied stick becomes stronger, with peat and mocha being the dominant facets. A lot of flavor for the money!

The "R" stands for "Retro", the "C" for a Caribbean island state that is not entirely insignificant in the cigar world - rather a joke in terms of format, because in the past they used to roll rather long and thin in Cuba. No joke, however, is the great quality. Approx. 50 - 60 minutes smoking time.
Flavours
Similar to the "Nuevitas" range, this Johnson creation tastes a touch stronger than it actually is in terms of nicotine. Distinctive cedary-earthy aromas, a bouquet of tart-fresh herbs to balance it out, distinct spiciness with a peppery impression, all this permanently accompanied by restrained sweetness on the palate. An expressive blend with full body and velvety smoke consistency, with "only" medium strength. The closeness to traditional Habanos implied in the series name is only partially present, which does not detract from the quality; it is most likely to be expressed in an underlying leatheriness.

In this thick Toro at a sensational price, Jaime's blend probably comes into its own best. The pure Nicaraguan filler, which is usual for Pepín, is coated here by a Connecticut Broadleaf with a strong aroma. Smoking time approx. 75 - 90 minutes

Flavours
Compared to the Robusto, the Long one has a much more concise sweetness, which changes again and again during the course of the smoke. In addition to liquorice and cane sugar, seemingly strange associations such as blackberry jam also appear. These charming facets are embedded in a highly harmonious combination of various expressive woody aromas and the rich, mouth-watering umami roast flavours of the blend, which are reminiscent of stone-baked bread, fresh coffee and even a little malt beer. Piquant spice tones like nutmeg and ginger flit across the palate. Towards the end spicier and stronger.

The series, conceived as a tribute to his roots (admittedly: not the most original idea among the numerous Cuban exiles in the cigar business!), is among José Garcia's latest strokes of genius. The Toro in the shimmering Oscuro wrapper burns for about 70 – 85 minutes.
Flavours
A classically sized boxpressed Toro with a filler of Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo – boah, how original… but wait, the blend is from Don Pepín and tastes just ünot at all interchangeable and gleichfö It tastes incredibly harmonious and charming, with lots of melting chocolate aroma, nutty notes, spices like nutmeg and even cardamom, the obligatory hint of crisp coffee aroma, and increasingly peat and toast as it progresses. Above all, the brand-typical tops of solid woods and a pleasant sweetness hover. Medium strength and extremely good performance.

This series bears the brand name in English and is thus something like Tatuaje's "signature" series - but also a prototypical representative of classic strong, spicy Nicaraguan cigars. Simply timelessly good for approx. 50 - 65 minutes!

The horseman resp. The classic Robusto impresses right from the start with its full body and intense, well-balanced aroma between espresso and a variety of other roasted notes, a striking spiciness between black pepper and oriental spices, an earthy-malty undertone that becomes more and more pronounced as the smoke progresses, as well as a pleasingly varied round of fine fruit acidity, an expansive leathery component and expressive noble wood tannins. Powerful and finely tart, with a slight sweetness.

With this "flower of the Antilles", Pepín Garcia symbolically waves in the direction of his old homeland Cuba - in particular, his greeting goes to the production sites of the stronger Habanos, whose fans will find a great alternative here with a smoking time of around 50 - 65 minutes.
Flavours
With a comfortable draw, the pressed cigar runs right into the connoisseur with a cheerful "Servus!". In other words: there is nothing here about a restrained start, the powerful blend immediately brings a double portion of spice, intense coffee roast aromas and a palette of the dark wood notes typical of Pepín to the palate. Subsequently, the "juicy" ripe, rich fruit sweetness that fans of Nicaraguan Sungrown cigars love is also added. The distinctive coffee flavour plays visibly into the earthy as the smoke progresses, while a nice cocoa tone clings to the palate. A pleasingly broad spectrum!

The young Garcia genaration certainly makes Papa José happy - daughter Janny is involved with Tatuaje-head Pete Johnson and active in business there, son Jaime launched his first blend - and it turned out splendidly! See for yourself for 55 - 65 minutes.
Flavours
A typical Garcia blend, but definitely with its own twist - and a quality that, especially in this price sector, really inspires! The (relatively lush) Robusto shines with an exciting potpourri of dark, tart-sweet flavours, from men's chocolate to oak and mocha (more espresso later) to liquorice, brown bread and roasted hazelnuts. All this is constantly underpinned by a pleasant sweetness that changes its character from time to time during the course of the smoke - dark berries and sultanas are just as much at the start as molasses. Great balance between full spice and smoothness! Medium - strong.
