This version of the extra-long and -thick Robustos from Mexico (smoking time approx. 60 - 70 minutes) is named after the original origin rather than the place of cultivation of the dominant tobacco variety Criollo. This is because it is developed from the classic "black tobacco" of Cuba.
This medium-bodied smoke offers the most straightforward, classic tobacco flavour of the range. The intense etherealness of tropical woods combines harmoniously with pithy toasted notes and the mouth-filling umami taste of white bread; a pinch of racy spice adds excitement and spicy facets. On the other side of the flavour spectrum, delicious honey sweetness provides balance. The good-natured, comfortably drawing cigar maintains a rather consistent flavour picture, but definitely shows more strength and body in the final third.
