Origin series cigars from the Mexican brand Casa Turrent

Cigars from Mexico

Compared to other classic tobacco-growing countries, Mexico has some peculiarities that not many aficionados are aware of. The country of the Mayas and Aztecs was, besides Cuba, for many decades the only country that was able to produce "Puros" - that is, cigars whose tobacco components only come from the country of origin - without any tobacco additives from other countries. Tobacco is one of the oldest and most important cultivated plants of the indigenous people of the Central American country in Mexico. In the temples and pyramids of the Mayans there are representations of the plant and images of smoking gods. The main focus of Mexican cigar production is the city of San Andres Tuxtla, in the state of Vera Cruz, which is located near the Gulf of Mexico. The surrounding San Andres valley, which is mainly known for its binder and wrapper leaves, offers the ideal conditions to supply the tobacco plants with all the minerals they need. Most of the binders and wrapper are exported to Caribbean countries.
