When the new "blue" line was launched, there was some talk of the "Anemoi series", but according to the manufacturer, only this long Toro with a fat 80 - 95 minutes smoking time is called that. A very original blend, more for experienced smokers!
Aroma
Holla, why the strength of the line is only rated as "medium" by the producer is not really clear - most people find it really strong. Above all, however, it delivers a very unique, very dense aroma profile with an abundance of heavy, noble wood notes, restrained liquorice sweetness, distinctive roasted notes of strong coffee and, as a unique selling point, wonderfully hearty "animal" facets, a certain saltiness in combination with concise smoky tones (here the Broadleaf wrapper makes itself felt)... - reminds one a little of a RyJ "Cazadores" or a Habano by Sancho Panza!

Der Name der Zigarrenmarke La Galera bezieht sich auf den Saal in der Tabacalera in dem die Zigarren tatsächlich hergestellt werden. Der spanische Begriff „La Galera“ bedeutet ins Deutsche übersetzt so viel wie Galeere, oder etwas despektierlich ausgedrückt, Sklaven – Galeere. Da diese mittelalterlichen Schiffe von Hand gerudert wurden, klingt die Bezeichnung erstmal nach einem nicht sonderlich angenehmen Arbeitsplatz. Dennoch erklärt der Inhaber der Marke, Jochy Blanco, dass hier „die tatsächliche Magie passiert“, denn hier findet die Vermählung der Tabake zu Zigarren statt. Aus heutiger Sicht ist es echt verwunderlich, dass der Name noch von niemandem vorher verwendet wurde. Der Mann hinter der Marke La Galera, Jochy Blanco, ist als Produktionspartner an der Seite von Rafael Nodal bei Boutique Blends Cigars bereits vielen Aficionados ein Begriff. Seine eigene Tabacalera La Palma in der Dominikanischen Republik produziert so bekannte und beliebte Linien wie La Boheme, SWAG oder Aging Room.
