At the suggestion of the French tobacco monopoly (SEITA), Cubatabacos introduced the Quai D'Orsay brand exclusively for the French market in the mid-1970s. The brand is named after the famous Parisian street on the banks of the Seine, where SEITA's headquarters were located at the time. For over 40 years, Quai D'Orsay cigars led a shadowy existence in the Habanos portfolio, but this only changed with the relaunch in 2017 when the brand's range was reorganised to include one classic and two contemporary formats.

To celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary in style, Habanos S.A. is now launching a smart leather case in the brand's classic colours that can hold up to three cigars with a 52 ring gauge. The upper part of the adjustable cigar case is covered with yellow-orange grained leather, while the "Quai D'Orsay" logo and the 50 for the anniversary are stamped on the smooth gold-coloured lower part. The outer box of the case was designed to match in the same colours and the 50 on the lid.

Quai D'Orsay
Quai d’Orsay ist eine recht junge Marke im Habanos-Sortiment. Im Jahr 1973 wurde sie von Cubatabaco exklusiv für den französischen Markt eingeführt. Die Anregung dazu kam von SEITA, dem ehemaligen französischen Tabakmonopol. Der Name der Marke bezieht sich auf die bekannte Straße am Ufer der Seine in Paris, auf der das Unternehmen seinen damaligen Sitz hatte. Mehr als 40 Jahre lang war die Marke ein fast unbekanntes Juwel im Portfolio von Habanos. Erst die globale Einführung zweier neuer Formate sollte es den Zigarrenliebhabern in aller Welt ermöglichen, diese besondere Marke mit französischem Charme und Raffinesse zu entdecken und zu genießen. Gekennzeichnet ist sie außerdem durch einen feinen Geschmack, Charakter und die Intensität bester kubanischer Tabake. Für die Marke Quai d’Orsay begann im Jahr 2017 eine vielversprechende neue Zeit. Dies geschah durch die Wiedereinführung in vollkommen neuer Gestaltung und die Aufnahme von zwei neuen Formaten, die international in den wichtigsten Märkten von Habanos S.A. vertrieben werden. Beim XIX. Festival del Habano wurden sie erstmalig vorgestellt: die QUAI D‘ORSAY NO.50 (Produktionsname „D No.5“) mit einer Länge von 110 mm und einem Robusto-typischen Ringmaß von 50 sowie die QUAI D‘ORSAY NO.54 (Produktionsname „Edmundo Grueso“), ein vollkommen neues Format, mit einer Länge von 135 mm und einem gewaltigen Ringmaß von 54. Beide werden in unlackierten Holzkisten mit 10 und 25 Stück Inhalt angeboten. Die dritte Vitola der Marke im klassischen Corona-Format existiert bereits seit der Geburt der Marke: die QUAI D‘ORSAY CORONAS CLARO (Produktionsname „Coronas“) mit einem mittleren Ringmaß von 42 und einer Länge von 142 mm. Die Zigarren sind totalmente a mano, tripa larga - vollständig von Hand gefertigte Longfiller.
