Worth knowing
The Mayan god of wind and fire has lent his name not only to unpleasant tropical storms, but also to something as pleasant as this new Robusto Grande. And yet, with a smoking time of approx. 60 - 70 minutes, the PLV Champ is not at all impetuous!
Aroma
In terms of taste, this second new format is closer to the Robusto than to its thicker sisters - tart sweet and spicy facets are more prominent than the opulent peanut feeling of the Gordos. The latter is nevertheless clearly to be tasted, integrated in woody notes, fresh peat and - especially with increasing smoking time - pithy roasted flavours next to some pleasant pepper spice and more and more cocoa aroma on the palate. The initially "harmless" strength gradually lifts into the medium range, while the taste picture is visibly determined by coffee and earth.
