The Corona Gorda is one of the classic Cuban formats, and some of the best Habanos belong to this variety. The jewel among them is this noble cigar, introduced in 1994, which not a few fans consider to be one of the most balanced and finest Puros in the world. Smoking time mostly 65 – 85 minutes.
Aroma
The Siglo IV is one of the sweetest, most harmonious and pleasant cohibas. The playful, flattering aromas of hay, summer flowers and honey are particularly pronounced in it. At times, the flavour is even reminiscent of tropical fruits. Of course, it also has the brand-typical development towards darker and more bitter flavours (nuts, mocha, cedar), but the creamy, gentle character remains more in the foreground. Despite the completely different format, the blend is most comparable to that of the Medio Siglo. The exactly medium-strong luxury cigar offers a great introduction to the somewhat larger Cohibas.

Cohiba
Cohiba ist die Spitzenmarke unter den Habanos. Sie wurde 1966 ganz persönlich für den Máximo Líder Fidel Castro erschaffen. Ihr Entstehungsort war lange Zeit ein großes Geheimnis, denn niemand sollte wissen, woher sie stammte. Im Grunde war Cohiba lange Zeit die inoffizielle Hausmarke der Staatsführung und außerhalb dieses Zirkels praktisch nicht zu ergattern. Mit einer großen Ausnahme: als Geschenk, welches nur hochrangigen Staatsgästen vorbehalten blieb. Erst 1982 entschloss man sich, ein limitiertes Kontingent auch in den freien Handel zu bringen. Spätestens zu diesem Zeitpunkt wurde auch der Ort der Entstehung unter den Aficionados dieser Welt richtig bekannt: die Manufaktur El Laguito in Havanna. Die ehemalige Villa eines Zuckerbarons ist die Wiege dieser ersten postrevolutionären Marke. Sie liegt ein gutes Stück außerhalb der Stadt im Stadtteil Cubanacán, deshalb konnte ihre Lage so lange geheim bleiben. Hier wird die Auslese der Auslese zu einer Cohiba zusammengestellt – zum Nonplusultra unter den Habanos.

The term Boveda comes from the Spanish and means vaulted cellar. It is a proprietary humidity control product that has been specially developed for use in cigar cases, countertop and travel humidors. Each Humipak contains a saturated salt and water solution protected by a bi-directional permeable membrane. The Boveda Humipaks offer the user the advantage that he no longer has to remember to top up the humidor's water reservoir, as he simply replaces the corresponding number of Boveda Paks in the humidor every 2 - 3 months. The Humipaks are designed to release treated moisture into the humidor, thus minimising the risk of bacteria, mould or fungi developing in the humidor. They also have the advantage over other humidification systems that they minimise fluctuations in the moisture balance, allowing cigars to mature perfectly. The constant moisture balance preserves the natural oils and sugar components of the cigars, giving them the opportunity to improve with age.
If you've ever tried to roll a cigar yourself at an event, you'll really appreciate the skill of the rollers - but unfortunately there's always the odd ‘Monday copy’. With this ingenious tool, you no longer have to be annoyed by cigars that are rolled too tightly - simply place the drill bit at the cut end of the head, turn it as straight as possible into the cigar until the end of the spiral and drill a little more if necessary. In this way, unwanted leaf pieces are not pushed to the side, but remain in the drill and can be pulled out. The product is inspired by a dentist's tool and makes every cigar draw!
