It may come as a surprise that today's most popular cigar format was only included in the Cohiba portfolio with the international marketing in 1989 – of course, with justifiably great success. Those who expect more smoothness and less strength than with the Coronas should, however, be prepared for an intense smoke of 60 – 80 minutes, because the „CoRo“ has a lot of punch!
Aroma
As is typical for the format, there is no „smoking-in phase“ with restrained aromatics. The usually rather loosely rolled cigar immediately delights with pithy wood, walnut and coffee flavours, slightly earthy-roasty underpinnings and cushioned by fine, floral honey. Overall, however, it is more of a noble, yet wonderfully creamy umami cigar, full-bodied and immensely „satisfying“, always more crisp than medium. Here, it is less about maximum variety in the course of the smoke than about a coherent, cohesive flavour. This Habano simply tastes like the very finest tobacco from A to Z!

In the decade, the hour of the short fatties with a length of less than 12 cm and RM from 50 was struck. Trinidad joined the trend with this Gordito, which bundles all the trademarks and spoils the aficionado for 45 - 60 minutes.
Flavours
This little one is very robust, with coffee and walnut flavours, tart pineapple fruit sweetness, a small hint of cocoa and diverse, varied wood notes that go far beyond the familiar cedar flavour. The creamy smoke consistency is typical of such ring gauges and the smoking comfort is enormous. With a medium strength, slightly higher towards the end, it is a completely harmonious, flavourful experience that even beginners can enjoy. A dream summer cigar!

At the same time as its longer sister, this classic Montecristo began to conquer the hearts of aficionados. The massive boxes of 100 pieces that used to exist are history – thank goodness this great cigar lives on.
Flavours
As in Cohiba, the two are similar Lancero formats taste naturally strong – and as there, the smaller Vítola is also the somewhat lighter and more beginner-friendly cigar at MC, corresponds more to the first than the last three quarters of the long one. In other words, the typical brand aromas are a little sweeter and sweeter, the captivating spice and earthiness of the “Especiales” are more strongly integrated into gentle coffee and chocolate nuances, the roasted aromas are more moderate. The strength doesn't pick up quite as much towards the end either.

“Churchill” Anilla or not – this is a flawless Robusto with the typical dimensions and the usual smoking time of approx. 55 – 70 minutes. Amazing: The most popular format of the moment was only added to the RyJ range in 2010!
Flavours
The “SC” tastes - in short, one could say for connoisseurs of the brand - exactly as you would expect from a Romeo-Robusto. Smooth medium strength - initially rather light, in the last third just above -, wonderfully creamy smoke, lots of nutty-gentle roasted aromas, subtle sweetness, especially at the beginning playful floral-fruity notes with a slightly grassy touch; later increasingly the characteristic leather notes. The cigar skillfully unites fans of the new (short “Churchill” formats) and the old RyJ face (pre-revolutionary formats) behind it. Bestseller!

The classic Robusto, probably the most popular cigar format today, is of course also represented in the HdM range. The „Epi 2“ with its light, well-balanced tobacco blend offers a perfect introduction to the world of medium Habanos formats. Smoking time approx. 55 – 70 minutes.
Flavours
Creamy, mildly spicy, honeyed, with wonderfully gentle almond and cappuccino flavours, this is how this lovable cigar presents itself, with great smoke development and uncomplicated burning as well as with discreet spicy flavours and a fine underlying cocoa note in the later course of smoking. Due to the rapid maturation typical of the brand, the subtleties of the blend come to the fore unusually early. A masterpiece of balance, ideal for beginners, hot summer days or the early morning!
Worth knowing
Before the revolution, there were plenty of ‘Serie...’ cigars from Partagás, but they were all discontinued under Castro. In 1975, the tradition was resumed with this Robusto. However, this bestseller is a rather ‘modern’ Habano, not too strong and very uncomplicated. Smoking time approx. 55 - 70 minutes.
Flavours
The most beginner-friendly medium Partagás format shines with a compact, engaging flavour. The pervasive resin/incense aroma and the heavy earthy spice of its stronger sisters play second fiddle here at best; the focus is on a wonderful cinnamon flavour, cedar ethereal, roasted bread aromas and the scent of coffee, combined with a fine caramel sweetness. The floral elegance of the ‘Mille Fleurs’ also shines through at times. The great finish is designed for a rather light draw, a large amount of smoke and a good-natured burn. Apart from the stronger finish, the strength levels out in the centre of the midfield.
