Die Unternehmensgeschichte des Hauses Arturo Fuente ist bewegend und durchaus erzählenswert: Der 1887 geborene Kubaner Arturo Fuente immigrierte 1906 nach Key West in Florida. Schon als Junge hat Arturo Fuente die Kunst der Zigarrenfertigung von seinem Vater gelernt. 1912 gründete der 24-Jährige die Fabrik A. Fuente & Co. in West Tampa. Aus kubanischen Tabaken wurden dort in Handarbeit Zigarren gerollt. Schon zwölf Jahre später besaß das Unternehmen annähernd 500 Angestellte. Doch der Erfolg des jungen Arturo Fuente war nicht von langer Dauer: Ein verheerendes Feuer vernichtete die gesamte Fabrik, so dass die Produktion eingestellt werden musste. 22 Jahre später glaubte niemand mehr an eine Wiederaufnahme der Produktion. Der inzwischen fast 60 Jahre alte Arturo witterte jedoch seine zweite und letzte Chance und wollte es sich selbst noch einmal beweisen. Die Depression und der Zweite Weltkrieg waren vorüber und der gelernte Bäcker nahm das Zigarrenhandwerk wieder auf. Er motivierte den gesamten Fuente-Clan, Zigarren zu rollen. Das Geschäft lief anfangs schleppend, doch Arturo Fuente glaubte fest an den Erfolg des Zigarrenhandwerks und verfolgte sein Ziel ehrgeizig. Als sich das Geschäft lokal etabliert und er somit den Grundstein des Neustarts gelegt hatte, verkaufte er es 1958 seinem jüngsten Sohn Carlos für einen Dollar. Der Familie Arturo Fuente schien der Erfolg jedoch nicht vergönnt: Die Fabrik brannte 1979 im Zuge der nicaraguanischen Revolution erneut nieder. Doch auch Carlos Fuente wollte sich nicht geschlagen geben. Er beschloss, in die Heimat seiner Familie zurückzukehren, verpfändete sein Elternhaus eröffnete in Santiago in der Dominikanischen Republik zum dritten Mal die Firma. Diese Entscheidung wurde mit Erfolg gekrönt. Carlos Fuente Senior und Carlos Fuente Junior sind heute Geschäftsführer der Arturo Fuente Marke. Einer Firma, die knapp 30 Millionen Zigarren pro Jahr produziert. Fuente Zigarren sind neben den bekannten Herstellern wie Leon Jimenes oder Macanudo nicht aus dem Sortiment der Dominikanischen Republik wegzudenken.

To remove dirt from the lighter burner, simply blow the burner with a strong jet of air from the dust remover.
